About

OM Family Therapy is located in Ontario, Canada. The firm initially started providing psychotherapy services via a family practice clinic in Mississauga, serving about 10 clients monthly. Since its inception in 2016, the company has grown significantly, and it currently serves the upwards of 70 clients a month, virtually and across different clinics in Ontario. While our clientele comes from all backgrounds, visible minorities and newcomers in Canada constitute the majority. We specialize in providing culturally informed psychotherapy services. Om Family Therapy also provides training and supervision to associate therapists who are on their way to licensure.

Services

  • Individual Adult Therapy Sessions are one-on-one sessions for adults aged 18 and above. The goal is to help you identify & develop a plan to deal with and overcome the challenges you may face. Virtual or in-person sessions are available.

  • Individual Child Therapy Sessions are one-on-one or family sessions for children (6-11 yrs) and adolescents (10-17 yrs). Parents or guardians must attend the initial assessment (first session) and provide written consent. Child and parental/guardian input are used to identify challenges and develop a therapy plan. Virtual or in-person sessions are available.

  • Marriage & Family Therapy Sessions are for couples or families. Initial assessments must be in-person, and we will identify the challenges couples or families face. Subsequent meetings can be virtual or in-person, where we will work together to develop a plan to deal with and overcome your challenges.

  • Neuroscience research reveals that without new experiences, our brains remain stagnant. If you think the same thoughts day after day, the majority being repeats from the day before, your neurobiology, neurocircuitry, and neurochemistry all reflect this consistency. In essence, everything in your body stays the same as long as you do.

However, when you actively seek new experiences and learning, you forge new synapses in your brain. These connections promote the growth of fresh neurons. Within just four days, these novel experiences and learning can activate pathways that drive change.

Together, let us practice and work towards making a positive change!
